A D.E.T.A.I.N.™ course can last as little as two (2) days and as long as five (5) days. There is a minimum of six (6) hours per day and a maximum of eight (8) hours per day.

Absolutely! Should you find yourself in a situation where you do not have your weapon(s), this system addresses how to use our state-of-the-art unarmed defense techniques to control and detain your aggressor.

No! Although the D.E.T.A.I.N.™ system was designed keeping law enforcement and military in mind, the courses are customized. Anyone in the security industry can benefit from a custom tailored D.E.T.A.I.N.™ course program.

Absolutely! Just because the course is a two (2) day course does not mean that you can’t effectively learn the techniques. A D.E.T.A.I.N.™ representative and the agency representative will collaborate to determine which techniques of the system will be the areas of focus.

No! The four (4) day course is the complete D.E.T.A.I.N.™ system. This course involves water breaks, rest breaks, lunch breaks, drills and role-play to keep the officers mentally focused, challenged and physically rested for the entire four (4) days.

Yes! They are incorporated as a distraction to expose aggressors creating an opportunity to detain them. The striking is not intended to damage the individual.

Absolutely. This system is based on body mechanics and leverage. It focuses on the technical apprehension of non-compliant individuals rather then overpowering or forcing their detainment.

Yes! The way to become a certified instructor is to attend the five (5) day course which includes the instructor certification. You may only become a certified instructor once you have completed a full five (5) day D.E.T.A.I.N.™ course.

The certificate that states you are a certified D.E.T.A.I.N.™ instructor will last for a period of six (6) months. Within six (6) months you must schedule and attend a two (2) day, twelve (12) hour, re-certification course so your certification does not lapse.

Yes! Certificates of completion are given after completing any of our courses. However, instructor certification will only be issued after completing the five (5) day course. All participants will review the new techniques and take a small practical exam. Upon successfully completing the practical exam, a certificate of completion will be awarded.

The certificate of completion lasts for as long as you have it. This certificate merely states that you attended and completed a D.E.T.A.I.N.™ course. It does not grant authorization to teach the techniques.
