I first met Jon Burke in the mid-1990s while conducting combatives training at the Gracie Jiu-Jitsu academy in Torrance, California.  I was assigned to a Special Forces unit at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina and had been tasked to develop a combatives program for my unit.  Jon was one of the primary instructors at the academy and we quickly became close friends.

Jon played an important role in development of our combatives program and as a result, was later called upon him to serve as the lead instructor for the Federal Air Marshal Service Defensive Measures Program.

I continue to rely upon Jon to enhance my abilities and would highly recommend his training to anyone in the law enforcement or military communities.  His training is brutally effective, sensible, methodical and safe.
